its me glenda posted:how was supercard of honor it was a good show though they really burned the crowd out after the first match and they didn't get them back until the ME. Adam Cole was booked like a dude leaving the company. The only major issue is that it set up exactly 2 matches going forward. Silas Young vs Bobby Fish for the TV belt. Cody Rhodes lost to Jay Lethal, but then beat up Christopher Daniels after the world title match. There's still time to get some contenders arranged for the other belts but yeesh those programs. Roque11 posted:It doesn't matter since ROH drew nearly 4000 fans Saturday night. How many non-WWE companies in the U.S. can say the same thing? Not many, but on the other hand, they have the potential to draw that crowd exactly one time a year, and had the perfect match to do so. It's not really a barometer of continued success. Especially since their really hot tag team title program for the rest of the summer fizzled because of TNA.

You're right, I know Marty has it for a while after they hot shotted it and I completely whiffed. Yeah so that's one title feud setup and a non title feud maybe. Silas and Dalton are kind of heading into Bray territory of dudes who really need an actual big win for me tbh.

Here's him wrestling John Silver, who is another tiny but great guy KungFu Grip posted:how long until Delirious runs him off/doesn't care to use him right like ACH, Keith Lee, or Lio Rush? They never really ran off/booked Keith Lee badly. He just kind of left because of the entire ROH/Floslam debacle. Beef Jerky Robot posted:I think Cedric's last ROH angle was actually with Gresham funny enough his last angle was whacking Moose with a wrench and Caprice Coleman splitting with him Ktik posted:Keith Lee they thought of only as a tag team wrestler, and then offered him the new standard ROH contract that forbid him from working in a lot of the indies that got him over as a single guy, so that's why he left. I love Lee as a singles guy, but his entire ROH stint was like 6 TV tag matches, 1 PPV tag match, and a dozen house shows which were in like a 4 month span. It didn't last long enough to be really bad booking or much of anything else. It's not really the comparable to ACH or Cedric who were with the company for years and booked into oblivion. It's not even the same as Lio Rush, who won their Top Prospect tournament over a 16 year vet (who retired 10 months later), and then had a year where his highlights were beating Caprice Coleman and Todd Gresham, losing his programs, going on a "training visit" to Europe instead of being in a title tournament, getting put back in the title tournament just because ACH left, just so he could do the job in the tournament to Matt Taven. Rush felt like he was getting thrown into the Cheeseburger/Will Ferrara job guy pile after starting the year really strong, and by comparison the Pretty Boy Killers were pretty good at winning and becoming a thing. And yes, as I said before, he didn't resign with ROH, because ROH's new contract forbid people to work for indies that were affiliated with FloSlam, which is what I meant by "the entire ROH/FloSlam debacle".

Marquis de Pyro posted:I'm sure EVOLVE's massive drawing power will be a big problem the last time they did TV in Lowell, maybe 300 or 400 people showed up and a bunch of them were big Beyond fans. They had to move a ton of people from up in the balcony so you didn't see empty seats around the ring. It didn't matter then, because Beyond ran a Sunday show that weekend and shared a lot of talent with ROH. Of course with ROH cracking down on sharing talent with Floslam affiliated promotions that isn't happening this year, so instead it's going to be 2 cards running against the TV tapings headlined by Matt Riddle. He's taking on Keith Lee in the early show, and ZSJ later. MassRafTer posted:I've been dragging my feet on getting tickets because the card I expected (and am getting) isn't inspiring and ringside is already sold out with most of the first balcony sold out. Grozz Nuy posted:I like Castle but everyone pushing to see him be a main eventer in ROH makes no sense to me, the guy's an above-average worker but hardly anything exceptional. Consistently entertaining upper-midcarder is the right place for him. He's a good worker and has a pretty good gimmick who is placed well on the card, is super over live, and was pushed really hard for a bit and then has kind of been undercut in the booking miasma that is ROH He basically gets booked to win a ton at live events and the smaller cards, but loses constantly on the bigger cards. I'm trying to think of how many feuds on PPV he's managed to win at this point, and I'm coming up with Colt Cabana. It feels like he has the potential and has never really gotten the shot to attempt it, and its especially frustrating in a company like ROH where the main event and upper midcard have been in disarray for most of the last 2 years. Lethal ran out of steam long before he dropped the title, and lost it to a guy he already beat. Cole's title reign wasn't really all that great either, probably because it was underscored by the KOR/Cole match being so obvious. O'Reilly didn't even get a title reign, and then Cole dropped it to a guy for a gold watch run which should have probably ended at WOTW, but eh. It's crazy how ROH internet buzz goes a completely direction than how their big shows have done this year. no, they drew that for WM weekend at their supershow They ran the Lowell Memorial Auditorium last year for ASE and drew about 1200 people for 1500 seats. for comparison, it's probably something like a third of your usual WWE house show and about half of the sell-out crowd of 2400 that NXT drew back in the same building in April 2016. (Albeit to be fair, NXT didn't do a TV taping, so they could pack people on the stage and in the area that ROH needs for production)
