I got 40% just for casually mentioning that I might want to start looking for new work. Timing is the most important bit - if the company is already suffering from an intellectual exodus, now's the time.

last time I got to interview somebody (for a java position), I asked him to explain the difference between a class and an object. He could not management hired him anyway
