According to the Times, the Obama administration is looking at dropping all sorts of countermeasures on Russia before Obama leaves office.

You absolutely can randomly bomb folks without the support of the entire country, as is evidenced by everyone we've ever bombed.

Do you have any idea what the logistics situation of the US military looks like? Full all out civil war in the US wouldn't be decided by drones and jets because the apparatus that keeps them running is a massive inefficient machine spread across the maximum number of congressional districts, designed for profit extraction and over-engineered into fragility. You can't carpet bomb without the support of the country because it takes 300+ million people to keep our war machine running and actual non-support (as opposed to complaints and compliance) renders most of the high tech stuff completely unsustainable and broken/abandoned in a really short period of time.

Civil War, as everyone talks about in this thread, is impossible for the same reason. The cities start starving and society breaks down long before were having tank battles in Cleveland or bombing runs in Houston.

unless they're worse than actual war with the US this still comes out a strong win in Russia's books.

I think enjoying the state suppressing people's rights is incredibly un-American and a betrayal of everything the founding fathers stood for.

Well except for most of them being slavers I suppose.
