If there was a "Civil War" today, it'd be a bunch of hicks having their water supplies dusted and their diabetes medication no longer shipped out and they'd be dead inside a week because they'd have stress eaten their 6 month supply of dehydrated ration packs and that'd be that. This is dumb. You can only carpet bomb with the support of the rest of the country. If you massacre civilians in california, the outrage mobilizes rebel elements in the other states. Putting down a civil war would have to be done on the ground with soldiers, and done quickly before the rest of the county lose stomach for it. Also mid east goat herders aren't born any tougher then anybody else. The have become hardened thru decades of war, and american civilians would undergo a similar process as a war dragged on.
