So, Deckard and Rachel's daughter placed that horse toy memory in every replicant she designed the memories for, right? The hooker replicant recognizes the horse on the bedside table, and the resistance leader implies that it's a shared thing when K finds out he's not The One.

But I'm not sure how much involvement she has in the resistance - is K the first one to ever come to her with the memory? Or did French One-Eyed lady already know about her/already met her?

I think the movie would have been better if K had somehow discovered the truth for himself instead of the exposition coming from this character we barely spend any time with who then plays no further part in the movie. It just seems a bit awkward.

The funny thing about Wallace is that he's the most unhuman character in the movie. From his total lack of empathy to the more overt things like his weird eyes and his robotic neck implant - he creates beings more human than he is.

The soundtrack is so loving good, although I guess you'd call it more of a soundscape. I'm listening to it now, and it's really making me want to go and see the movie again. How long does it normally take movies to hit streaming services these days after release if I don't get the opportunity to go to the cinema again?

Nah I don't mind paying for it - definitely not going to be waiting for it to appear on Netflix.

So I just got back from seeing it a second time. A few things that I missed the first time around:

Was K specifically created to track down the child replicant? The way that Luv says 'Now do your loving job' as she protects him from the people in the junkyard, the way that she seems to have a special connection to him (because they're both 'special') and the way she kisses him at the end.

Connected to the above - Joi was specifically created to push him towards the goal of him thinking he was the child, so that he'll investigate it and find out the truth. After the sex scene, and I think after she gives him his name, it cuts very deliberately to ads for Joi, saying 'She'll tell you exactly what you want to hear'. Also, when Luv destroys her in the casino, she says 'I hope you enjoyed our product.' She seems to be addressing Joi in that scene, making K the 'product'.

I dunno, maybe this is all super obvious, but it didn't jump out at me the first time around.

It's not that it needs further explanation.

What is it then? In one post you say that you want the film to be edited to trim the fat, and in the next you want an extra scene added that wouldn't add anything to the movie.

Dune would be amazing, please let him make Dune. And bring Deakins along for good measure.

Huh? It was a genuine question. I don't mean to be hostile, I'm just wondering how you can reconcile wanting the film to be shorter with also wanting to add a scene where (IMO) it's not needed. The short scene where they sit around the fire with the cool transition from fire embers to city lights conveys all that needed to be conveyed. I also found it interesting that that scene was the most natural scenery we get in the whole movie. They're out in the desert, with none of the irradiated lighting from Deckard's Vegas - just rocks, firelight, people sitting around it.

I mean, i don't necessarily agree with that, but I also found it jarring that there are a bunch of extended travelling sequences to go places, and then a single cut to him being back in his apartment for the return.

They find him unconscious in the casino, then there's a scene with him injured by the fire in the desert, with hookerbot looking over him, then they return to the city and then they're in the sewers with the scene where he talks to one-eye and finds out that he's not The One.

I went to see this twice in theatres, absolutely loved it, and the soundtrack just popped up in the sidebar of Youtube and I'm falling in love with it all over again. I've got a decent 4k HDR TV, where's the best place to buy/stream it from? Amazon?
