I said come in! posted:I don't see Asheron's Call being saved. From what is being said they already sound super pessimistic about the whole thing. Saving an IP is really hard. I don't get why companies bury IP. They're shutting it down, it's not exactly competing with anything they have, why not sell it instead of getting nothing at all for it? I haven't played in years, I dropped my sub at one point and never re-upped. Was an amazing game for it's time, and really still is, somewhat. Remember the poor dude who attracted aggro from KMs away? It took years for them to fix it, it turned out the aggro sorted by the player ID (or hash of player ID) and his was always at the top. Stuff would break off whoever was attacking it to go bumrush him, it was hilarious. Life mages at the wailing wall. Gold having weight which made banknotes a thing (and the gold-sink of converting back and forth). The hideously complicated spell learning system and the eventual spading thereof.
