Though Europe is still pretty comfortable with gross caricatures of Africans it seems to me. It's been both to their benefit and their detriment that they never had such overt segregation like in the States. It's helped them ignore the fact that they are pretty drat racist at times, whereas in the States people are more aware, though it doesn't mean they necessarily care.
