skimming this thread, the game seems totally epic. couple Qs... need i play nier before i play this? and also are upgrades or w/e actually called plugins because if so, Noice.

There seems to be little bits and pieces of homage and repetition from the first one but I don't know how heavily that will factor into the story. but if you're ever going to play Nier, play it before Automata because you if you try after you will swing Caim's sword once and hurl from what i've heard Nier is an extremely unique experience, if a bit clunky, but it is certainly on my list. what platforms is it on ?
