I nearly forgot Grimgar came out this year. It felt like it was trying to be serious but every character was intolerably stupid and the world worked just like a video game. It was like someone tried to replicate the bog standard isekai story and make it more 'real', but it ended up just as bad as most otherworld stories. Konosuba was about a team of morons in a heavily gamified world and Re:Zero was a more serious otherworld story and both of them really highlight how lousy Grimgar was.
