I understand that protesting Trump was already part of the idea being the march, with the date chosen right after he got sworn in and with his opinions about women. But it was still a march first and foremost for women's rights, correct? Because while the march has been shared among a shitton of countries, which is awesome, they refer to it as "protest against Trump" in a lot of medias. They talk about it like it's just a political statement against Trump, and feminism and women's rights take at best the backseat. And while protesting Trump is certainly noble, I feel it dilutes the meaning of the march. Patriarchy and misogyny will outlast Trump's presidency, yet all this energy is being redirected against the clown instead of the forces that got him elected, and this really annoys me.
