Small increase in minimum weight for next year to give them some breathing room for the aeroscreen later, but it also mentions that the increased side impact protection has added nearly ~15lbs of material to each tub. New race director whos taking over for Barnhart will be Kyle Novak, previously the CTSC/Porsche GT3 Cup race director for IMSA. No word yet if he wants 4 good ones. http://www.racer.com/indycar/item/146545-indycar-series-set-to-get-new-race-director

ESPN's broadcast crew has been decided, but not released: http://www.indycar.com/News/2018/01/01-03-INDYCAR-2018-TV-schedule I'm hoping the PBP guy isn't the guy who does Rallycross, because that's the only racing property ESPN has at this point (excluding F1, which sounds like it'll be an international feed).

With that, we are at 21 cars full time. All that's left is Coyne's second car to put it at 22, with 2 part time cars. So we're going up 1 car full time, but we have more teams and two teams testing the waters as well on part time deals.

Yeah, it's an extra car but it can't be stressed enough that while King is GP2 trash, he's vaguely competitive GP2 trash. Binder is borderline Draconne. In 3 full and 3 partial seasons of GP2 he's scored a full 20 points. And literally half of those came in 1 lucky Monaco weekend.
