I figured I'd give it a shot since I watch all the races anyway. Pretty relieved that I didn't have to come up with a witty team name though.

Yeah same. Coverage sucked anyway, and yellow flag lottery continues to be dumb. Looks like this season shouldn't be a Penske curbstomping though, that's something.

Between Kimball and Stroll in F1 turning in on people on lap 1 this week, they should really put blind spot detection or something in these things. Not that it'd change anything, but it would at least eliminate the didn't-know-he-was-there excuse.

from that: "IndyCar has upped the downforce level for Phoenix since the test here in February, following complaints from certain drivers that without an increase, it would be too difficult to challenge the cars ahead."

Who the gently caress are these "certain drivers", why are they so dumb, and why would Indycar listen to them

I don't think the Chevy/Penske dominating with the short oval package is going to mean much for the superspeedways, I'd expect Ganassi to be the favorite (since Andretti is clownshoes).

I was looking at RA tickets and they have garage access FOR FREE. The Xfinity races you have to pay for that poo poo, and it's Saturday only. Keep on keeping on, Indy.

That's everything at RA and another reason why that track rules

It really isn't, I'm not like, trying to pick a fight but Montoya in 2000 might as well have been in a completely different car to everyone else, he was that fast.

It's definitely like Mansell's first run in '93 though.

That's fair. There are at least all the other Andretti cars up with him today, whereas yeah Montoya's was an absolute curbstomping.

$90 for a bus ticket and GA for raceday is a pretty good deal, although only 1 day isn't nearly enough time to see the entire track

I can't do my usual camp-all-weekend thing this year, but I'm a little tempted to just get a Sunday ticket. Have you heard if the ticket sales are through the roof again this year?

Haven't heard any news, but I'm willing to be they'll be about the same or more than last year. This is RA's premier race of the season with the entire ladder + PWC over 4 days from Thu-Sun

I liked all the ladder races last year (well, maybe not PM since lol 10 car field), but PWC did nothing for me. I think I couldn't keep their eighty classes straight, so I just had no idea what I was watching. I think ALMS/TUSCC spoiled me.

Yeah but IMSA already has CTSCC as its minor league. And GTLM is awesome just by itself. The IMSA weekend at RA is overall better I think (plus you can bike the track!), but I feel like I should be supporting Indycar, dammit. Next year I want to try make Phoenix and Iowa, hopefully the new short oval package isn't a dud.

Danica was on better teams too, I don't think Fisher/Legge/Mann ever really had good equipment. Although Fisher had a pole at Kentucky iirc, so I might be underestimating her team.

e: Simona should've gotten more attention than she did but she wasn't American and hot I guess

e2: I somehow forgot that Danica did SI swimsuit and Maxim, that probably had something to do with it too

I was a Simona fan since my company was working with Newman Wachs (her team in Atlantics) in '08, I'm disappointed she never got a real shot in Indycar.
