I've been putting off writing for awhile now, I guess it's time to fire up Word. Gotta show up these :turianass: professional writers :turianass:

I know I've mentioned this before, but for those at attend races I strongly encourage joining IndyCar Nation. You get a welcome kit with some merch, and with certain memberships you can enter for a chance at at-track experiences. Through the fanclub I've won two-seater rides at 3 different tracks (Phoenix/Iowa/Watkins Glen) and countless pace car rides.

The reason I'm bringing this up is because they're doing a sale on memberships for the next few days.

I feel honored to have been able to hear him sing Back Home Again in Indiana more than once at the 500 :rip:

Sightly dated, but this is a rare occasion where I agree with Pippa Mann

Would PIR be open to fans for the test?

It was last year for one of the two days, my guess is probably Saturday will be open to the public with Friday being media only.

(chanting quietly) bump day, bump day, bump day

Bumping would be cool, but I don't see it happening since it's a disincentive for the manufacturers to have more than 33 entries.

Does anybody really give a poo poo? Some traditions just won't die I guess.

I haven't been able to hear Back Home Again in a few years since it's hard to hear from the inside of T3, but this new guy is pretty good at singing it (despite singing for the Blackhawks). The song is good and is tradition. I've literally met people who have grandstand seats they only sit in during the pre-race then walk around the track during the race.

The pomp and circumstance before the race is just as good as the race itself :colbert:

Literally the only good part of Indiana as a whole is the Speedway (and Main St), Mug 'n' Bun root beer, IRP/Lucas Oil Raceway, and that's about all that comes to mind. The only good non-racing thing the state has done lately was put in the Kokomo bypass on US-31 so that I can spend less time driving in Indiana.

The rest of Indiana could disappear and I wouldn't miss anything

The road/street course driver for Ed's car is gonna be Jordan King

quote:

King, who has competed in Formula 2 (formerly GP2) for the last three seasons, was named FIA Institute's 2015 Driver of the Year and won the 2013 British Formula 3 championship. He will race for ECR in the 11 road/street course races in 2018, beginning with the season-opening race in St. Petersburg, Florida..

Carpenter, the only owner/driver in the Verizon IndyCar Series, will race the car in the six oval events.

Snag another GP2 driver who won't have to race any ovals
