The girlfriend and I are headed north to the socialist paradise of British Columbia to spend the day at the aquarium in Vancouver. Seems like a good way to end 2016.

I use to have bad cat allergies. My best friends family always had at least 6 cats and being at his house made me feel like dying. But he also always had the latest video games (1985 or so woo) so I stuck that poo poo out and over a few year it stopped bothering me unless i rubbed my face on them and now I have a dumb cat of my own.

I am not a cat person. To me, cats are hit or miss. I have met a cat that was pretty rad; anytime you got near an elevated surface, he'd sneak up behind you and jump up onto you. Then he'd just chill out on your shoulder for a while. Claws aside, a pretty cool cat. Anyway, that's my cat story. Dogs are still the best.

The good: I'm going to eat and hang out with a bunch of decent people from work tonight. The bad: Dude from Boston decided on Red Lobster because it's his favorite seafood place.

The picture doesn't show scale very well. This furry bastard is 19 pounds of cuddles that basically inserts himself into the bed between the wife and I at night, even if that means standing on top of us with four paws dividing up his weight and waiting until one of us rolls out of his way.

SquirrelyPSU posted:I mean, all dogges are very good dogges, but Monty is a Very Good Dogge. I went to my aunt's house for Christmas and initially kept him on the porch with my cousin'a dog because he's usually obnoxiously affectionate to every new person/dog he sees, and my aunt has three accessory poodles (toy poodles). After about an hour my cousin wanted to bring her dog in so I said gently caress it and let Monty inside. I was so loving impressed with how well behaved he was. He mostly just walked around sniffing. My sister, who I don't speak to, was talking about her dog, and how earlier in the day she beat the gently caress out of her for something. Beat her so bad that my sister would just look at her and she would cower in fear. I wanted to say something, but my aunt decided to royally bitch her out for abusing her dog, and gently caress I enjoyed the spectacle. Still feel bad for the dog though :/

I think I got sick from the doctors office. My nose is full of icky smelling snot and I'm running a low fever, so probably a sinus infection. gently caress 2016, it just had to get one last dick punch in.

I've thankfully managed to avoid getting sick so far this winter. Just the very minor runny nose every now and again, but between getting a flu shot and actually remembering to wash my hands frequently I've staved off the worst of it.

LITERALLY SHAKING posted:Frank asking politely for a treat at the dog park. Those dogs are brilliant. A late friend of mine had one called Clover he could wing a tennis ball at really hard, and if it was within reach, Clover would snag it. Sometimes we'd be working on a house out in the sticks and Johnny'd want to look for a farm pond to fish during lunch. Clover would look for cows to herd.

He's great. Not entirely border collie, there's something in there giving him a few extra inches of height/length and that makes him comfortable at 75 pounds, but I wouldn't trade him for a home on Mars.
