Podcasts: I love Tell Em Steve Dave although it takes a few for them to figure out what it should be. The first few episodes of Jay & Silent Bob Get Old are great...it's basically Jay Mewes after like 6 months sobriety telling horror stories of his 20 years as a heroin/pill junkie. Eventually it tames down and gets formulaic, unfortunately. I think he's got over 7 years now. Startalk Radio by with Neil Degrasse Tyson is usually really solid, but I'm about sick of Chuck Nice making the same 8 jokes. Eugene Mirman is a better co-host. NYE plans: Just drove 8 hours home from visiting family, grabbed taco bell on the way in. Now to start hitting whiskey and playing video games like the loving horrid goon I am.

Baked some chocolate chip cookies from scratch, going to sample some Col Taylor whiskey + eat those cookies over the next three hours, while reading some M J Harrison, and pass the hell out before midnight. Tomorrow morning: got plans, hoping to find interesting used books.

RE: Podcasts I like Reveal with Al Letson, although if you keep up with NPR you probably have heard most of the material, same goes with most NPR podcasts TBH. I dig the Powercast with Mark Bell a lot, it’s a powerlifting/fitness/nutrition focused podcast that goes deep into DAD CHAT territory in a good way. I tend to pick and choose depending on who his guests are, but I do that with all podcasts. He has had some really bad takes on politics lately, but whatever at least he probably isn’t a white supremacist. RE: NYE Drinking a whole lot of warm beers and probably gonna go to bed soon lest I start s fight with my old lady that I can’t win.

Dude is smart as poo poo, and will hopefully be writing for Marvel tv soon. The "off" episodes without Marc are generally a drag, unless he's got a really interesting guest (any time Grant Morrison is on, it's nuts).
