I like that the first strip I read this last year was an Arlo and Jannis new years sex joke

Arlo and Janis

And it ended with the same thing.

Selachian posted:

And Pros and Cons, a well-regarded strip about lawyers, psychologists, waitresses, and cops.

I also post Edge of Adventure and Buni, but those won't be around till tomorrow at least.

Pros and Cons is great, but sometimes it ventures into "That's not a joke that's a thing that happened to me yesterday" territory, which is why I like it so much.

One of the few times I can think of in which Watterson drew breasts in an even slightly eroticized style. Creep out your friends with that trivia. :sonia:
Allegedly, Watterson also thought The Dark Knight Returns was really stupid.

This is eerily similar to a page from Age of Apocolypse that came a few years later and I can't work out if it's some sort of in-joke reference to this or Bill was just so spot on with his satire he happened to predict a page from Marvel Comics in the future.

Goddamnit Watterson. Too soon man, too soon.

And yes I know the strip is 20 years old.

At least Quill in GOTG tried to tell him what a raccoon was. Pretty cruel how people keep Rocket in the dark about raccoons.

In the comics he knows what they are but gets upset when people call him one because it's space racist.

Oh gosh I remember this arc. I think this series of strips is very good, if a bit too real. I'm pretty sure that everyone can relate to what Calvin goes through in this storyline.

edit: And also, holy poo poo, that first strip. gently caress you I'm Bill Watterson and where we're going, we don't need discrete panels! I love it when he does stuff like that.

I always liked the small little details with the dad in this strip.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I totally missed the yawn and the dirty look from Calvin's mom in the first panel too

Fingerpori

This came only a few days after a drunk Finnish man had been found trying to get a boar to penetrate him and then crashed his car. Which is perfectly legal in Finland, btw. - I mean the zoophilic act, not the drunk driving. But back to the comic. The act of forming pairs of something, like socks, is "paritella", but the word also stands for sexual intercourse.

I love these and I am gonna make the second panel my avatar.

That strip would have made more sense, but ironically the classic strip doesn't feature her and her old school hair cut to give context!
