Haven't read Rip Haywire in a while. S the comic is now a prototypical Lockhorns where Rip openly expresses his resentment and contempt at having to take care of their child?
For now, that's kind of the deal. I don't think they'll stick with things as they are for too long though. It seems to be leading somewhere.

There's a gang called the Jacketeers, led by a tough kid named Spumone, who are trying to take over Skippy's street, and Skippy is putting together his own group, the Revolkalutionists, to fight them. It's gone on that way for quite a while and is starting to drag, frankly.
Yeah there's a lot of panels with a ton of words and I'm having trouble getting into what Skippy is doing now. I imagine at the time it was very relevant but it's been losing me.

As the next strip suggests, this is more likely than not because the artist has no idea how to draw human bodies interacting.

Ah imgur is back up so the wait is over for you to see Wilbur have his spirit crushed.

First though, a look back at IL. These are the first full-body appearances of Skip and Gwen that I could find.

I think Skip has definitely become slimmer, and Gwen has certainly become curvier. I always thought she was supposed to be kind of plain but pretty, not really out of Skip's league (although she could do better).

How long has Johnny been with the Morgans
Margie arrived with Johnny in July, and abandoned him in September. What that means for in-strip time is hard to tell, but I don't think it could be more than the actual ~5 months it has really been, and about 3-ish solo with him.

That's a significant amount of time caring for a little kid, and I could see very easily them forming a bond with him, especially since they long ago accepted he is part of their family.
