Since I know how much everyone here loves Akame ga Kill, I figured I'd bring it up here that the manga finally ended. It hit most of the beats of the anime's ending (though somehow being even edgier), with one big difference. Tatsumi (the dumb MC) doesn't end up dying. Instead this happens.

He becomes a dragon man.

There is an awesome fight this episode.

Also I think this episode and the next one are the last ones of this arc.

And then we get into one of the best arcs of the show.

Hmmm I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we see a lot of specialists since that sounds like a catch-all for "bullshit anime power"

No, actually. There's only a handful of Specialists in the series, and for the most part their abilities tend not to be all that amazing.

Genocyber

Just checked the wiki, and in the stuff that the anime covers there are only 8 Specialists, and two of them are minor villains. This is out of probably a few dozen Nen masters that we'll be seeing in the coming arcs.

But doesn't that announcer lady talk about nen? And also the fighters talking out loud about their nen techniques? Wouldn't the audience hear any of this?

Possibly not. She never actually refers to is as Nen or anything like that, just as tricks or techniques. I think her and a lot of the audience don't know the technical aspects, they just see it as crazy fighting stuff.

I hate that this series is still pretending that how Nen works matters in any way.

It actually does matter for some fights. You're right in that it rarely is all that important though.

Also this guy is a cameo from one of Togashi's other manga, Level E. It also has an anime.

So, taking into account Hisoka is probably far from the top of the power pole himself, I take it the big "reveal" was that Heaven's Tower is basically one big training ground for post-exam Hunters in disguise?

No. The only person here involved with the Hunter's Association in any way is Wing.

I think Wing already explained it, but basically the HA keeps tabs on newly made Hunters to help them along. Wing was watching Gon and Killua.
