To clarify a little bit, I really like the set design and costume work that went into Nightbreed. I even love the fact it's set in Calgary and what that says about the city. I just think it's a bad movie.

So, uh, how did Fallon normalize Trump? I don't watch late night talk shows so I'm not really aware of any interviews featured on them. How are people surprised a presidential candidate was given softball questions on a milquetoast talk show? I'm aware that I am not the audience for this sort of thing, but how influential do y'all actually think Fallon's show and interviews are?

One of my sisters flew to DC to protest and my Norwegian mom's even protesting. I jokingly told her to make a sign that said "Nazi punks gently caress off" and she got very serious for a moment and said, "Yes, those nazi punks are very dangerous." She grew up in Cold War-era Europe and her father fought in the resistance during WWII so I think she'd know.

I know it has to be loving Bannon who's picking all of these people, not Trump. I sincerely doubt Trump has any idea who these people even are or what they're being put in charge of. The appointments are basically a perfect storm of agency opponents and idiots. I am also convinced that Mattis was picked solely off of his nickname. I think it goes without saying, but the Muslim ban is wholly unconscionable. It blows my mind that it can just be done through an executive action. I have a feeling it won't be held up in court, but I can't be sure of anything like that right now. The government is completely hosed and Republicans infest every level like parasites. There is every possibility some rear end in a top hat judge somewhere would uphold it and it takes a lot of time to make it to the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, there have already been repercussions. There are already people that have been trapped overseas or even sent back to their home countries only to be detained. I just... I just can't understand what the gently caress's happening anymore.

Not going to lie, I found Canada to be startlingly racist and Canadians are just as rude as everyone else. I'd see people ranting openly on the street about immigrants and hear poo poo like that constantly. It's not like I had never heard similar sentiments in the States, but never so brazen. And, dear god, never talk to a typical Canadian about their Native population. It's an awful, awful idea. For context, this was 2011-2012.
