So, the Bills. They sure are a football team. Record: 7-9 One game worse than last year, which was one game worse than the year before that. It's never good to be stuck in neutral. Positves -LeSean McCoy was an absolute beast after Anthony Lynn took over the offense after Week 2. In fact, he basically was the offense. -Mike Gillislee, McCoy's back-up, is also good, giving us a good option to bring out to keep McCoy fresh. - Lorenzo Alexander had a break-out season that included 12.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and a pick. Not too shabby for a 33 year-old signed to be a camp body. - Zach Brown, the other free agent linebacker we signed, was also amazing -Tyrod Taylor is a good quarterback -We fired Rex Ryan and his idiot brother, which is great, because our defensive personnel still is and always was best suited to a 4-3 Negatives -Sammy Watkins spent much of the year injured, and Robert Woods missed significant time as well. So did #3 wide receiver Marqise Goodwin. So we were forced to churn through the trash bin for wide receivers. -Jordan Mills is a bad right tackle. Seantrel Henderson has Crohn's and then got suspended 10 games. - Ronald Darby regressed terribly and Aaron Williams died(again), leaving to a revolving door of dregs at SS. Consequently, our secondary kinda blew. -Marcel Dareus loves weed, got suspended, his contract has no off-sets for suspensions even though he has a history of getting suspended. - The Bills apparently don't believe Tyrod Taylor is a good quarterback. E.J. Manuel is bad and a free agent. Cardale Jones is also bad. - Apparently the Pegulas are super meddlesome and/or Doug Whaley is a controlling dick. -Also the Pegulas know nothing about football Impending Free Agents of Note QB Tyrod Taylor?(the Bills would have to void his contract option) CB Stephon Gilmore ILB Zach Brown WR Robert Woods QB-Sneak "Specialist" E.J. Manuel

fsif posted:Jim Kelly and Bill Polian took to the air of an ownership-friendly Bills radio show to trash Tyrod today: A finger on the monkey's paw curls grotesquely inward. Seriously, I'm pretty much hoping Taylor leaves now, because he deserves better than this poo poo.

Things that made you happy: LeSean McCoy, splitting with the Patriots, Rex and Rob getting poo poo-canned Things that surprised you in a good way: The offense turned out to be pretty good, especially considering we were missing Watkins for most of the season and Woods for some of it. Things that surprised you in a bad way: The defense being horrible rather than mediocre Favorite Player this season: LeSean McCoy. Shady was straight magic this year. A shame about the receivers and the defense being bad, because Shady alone had us (briefly) contending for a wild card. Unsung hero: Zach Brown. Lorenzo Alexander's stat-line was flashier, but he was amazing at MLB. Always near the ball-carrier and fast enough to cover alright. Player you hated beyond belief this season: Basically every "safety" who played in place of Aaron Williams. They were bad. Dishonorable mention to Ronald Darby, but I'm not sure how much of his regression was on bad coaching and safety play. Worst storyline about your team: All the garbage about Tyrod Taylor. Is he the second coming of Jim Kelly? No, definitely not. Is he a good quarterback? Definitely yes. Cutting him will probably end up being one of the dumbest things the Bills have ever done, and they've done a poo poo load of really dumb things. Most unappreciated aspect to the team this year by everyone: Tyrod Taylor. I know he's appreciated on these boards, but a lot of Bills fans outside of here and people in the media take him lightly. Best win of the season: Shutting out the Brady-less Patriots in Foxboro Week 4 Worst loss of the season: Getting torched by the Jets Week 2. It was embarrassing at the time, and it's only worse with hindsight. What the team needs to do this offseason: Hire a good coach and establish a clear chain of command in the organization. Also depth. Our lovely depth, especially at WR and S, really hurt us. Funniest moment of the season: Sad funny counts, right? 'Cause Rex promising to stop Jay Ajayi only for him to rush for 200+ yards a second time was funny in a sad way. Do you have hope or despair for the future: The Bills are apparently hell-bent on dumping easily the best QB they've had since Jim Kelly retired, so I know only sad resignation. Does anything actually matter: Everything changes. Except the Bills. They always disappoint me, even when my expectations are low.
