Eh, what if the Bills FO thinks Tyrod is just a different flavor of Jay Cutler?

But Cutler was fine? Not great or anything, but Cutler wasn't dogshit.

Yeah, neither is Tyrod. But Cutler is also a guy who doesn't do things "The Right Way™" that NFL coaches and front offices love and like Tyrod he has some pretty obvious flaws as a quarterback. So perhaps Tyrod's limitations as a passer combined with him being a crummy teammate and leader (if that is true and not just a hack job) are enough to want the Bills to ditch him. I mean I think the Bears' FO is ready to eject Jay Cutler into the sun after the experience they've had with him. It doesn't seem so hard to believe the same could be possible for Tyrod. And Rex Ryan letting a player he likes get away with all sorts of poo poo would not be a stretch of the imagination.

then they probably shouldn't have signed him to a 6-year, $92M extension

And the Bears signed Cutler to a 7 year, $126,700,000 deal. I'm sure they'd love that one back too.

Fielded the dumbest kickoff ever.

Only if he caught it or first touched it while OOB, though--he was still a yard or two away when he caught it so it wouldn't have been a penalty

We're making GBS threads on Rainey, but it's a really good kickoff--if you're Rainey, do you really risk not fielding it?

It would have been fitting if he had pulled the Packers own trick on them by catching it OOB.

Some actual questions for folks in here to talk about team post mortem

Things that made you happy: Giants defense
Things that surprised you in a good way: Free Agency pickups basically lived up to contracts we thought outrageous at the time. At least far better than expected. Jackrabbit owns.

This is the first time in a long time that a GM's desperation moves all paid off.

Heh I forgot all about him.

Robbins later told his wife that he had spent most of the day before the Super Bowl partying across the border in Tijuana, and actually thought the Raiders had already won the game and he was celebrating their victory.

Oy vey, his life since being cut by the Raiders is not a good read.

Tomlin played passive and cost the Steelers a drive and not changing anything on defense and allowing Brady to shred them has to be an infuriating decision.

I think their offense was mostly fine, considering Bell's injury, with Ben mostly eating up the lack of pressure and throwing to open guys. They hosed up in the red zone, but the Patriots are good there, but that wasn't the problem.

Ben was awful throwing downfield tonight. Almost everything over 15 yards was way off target.

There's one more Browns/Super Bowl connection, which isn't direct, but is valid. Atlanta's Julio Jones was the player the Falcons drafted when the Browns traded out of that slot in 2011. The Browns touted the deal as one that would help build the team with numbers of players. They wound up with defensive tackle Phil Taylor, receiver Greg Little, fullback Owen Marecic, quarterback Brandon Weeden and running back Trend Richardson.

None of the five are with the Browns today.

Look man, in the age of hot takes and listicles there's no room for nuance. Get the gently caress out of here with that poo poo.
