I'll make sure of the more affluent names survive though, fleeing into exile or something. We might even see al-Houds or Cyrahids fighting under Moroccan banners in the not-too-distant future, should these radicals have their way.

Bollocks to that! I'd rather die to the commies than fight for the Moroccans! That said, some of my spineless family might choose to flee I guess.

Houdi

Another family that earned their estates during the ruinous years of the Fitna of Al Andalus, the Houdi were a small and inconspicuous house until the rise of Uthman al-Houd, one of the leading commanders of the Majlisi Guard during the Tirruni Wars. Many had even tipped the elderly commander to become Grand Vizier eventually, but a series of battlefield losses would cost him his career, with the commander being supplanted by a certain Raed Zulfiqar in the months and years that followed.

Despite this, Uthman was a wealthy man, and stayed involved in the politics of Al Andalus. When Raed Zulfiqar was crowned the new Sultan of Al Andalus, the Majlis al-Shura elected Uthman to become his first Grand Vizier. Uthman’s years in power wouldn’t be showered in glory, however, as the Grand Vizier was forced to tackle rising liberal sentiments and international crises in the years that followed, the most prominent being the Declaration of the Dual Monarchy. Nonetheless, he oversaw a period of rapid industrial expansion and economic growth, earning him the favour and approval of later scholars and historians.

The descendents of Uthman al-Houd would continue to dabble in politics, with the vast wealth hoarded by their dynasty giving them an enduring voice in the Majlis al-Shura. And this voice would only grow louder upon the outbreak of the Iberian Revolution, with the Houdi being one of the few dynasties who refused to simply surrender their lands to the revolutionaries. A few of them did escape into exile, it can’t be denied, but the vast majority served in the Andalusi Army instead, desperately fighting the revolutionaries until, one by one, they were all captured, chained and garrotted at the stake.

Truly, a few mistake was all it took for the house of Uthman al-Houd to devolve into secondary status and give Al-Andalus to the Zulfiqars. Granted, we were one of the few rare non-assassinated Viziers of Andalusia which should account for something. Hopefully the Triarchy of Southern Gharbia won't be too harsh on us.

Yeah, I do honestly think it was the SGA that hosed us over. I mean, I assume Hashim put in some sort of higher assassination chance for Viziers or something along those lines after we founded the SGA, because otherwise we've just been hosed over by RNG and that's not much that can be complained about.

Seriously this, is there a way to come up with a decision to give them large tracts or even the entirety of the Khedivate in exchange for them joining our alliance? I never cared for the the liberal colonial ambitions and I'm certain a lot of my fellow Shura members feel the same way

If this was an option I'd be perfectly willing to tell our glorious leader to go piss in a river. A strong ally against our two foes in Almoravid Morocco and the Frankish Imperium are worth every inch of Kongolese land we'd give up in the process. gently caress France, gently caress Morocco, Eternal Enemies or bust!

I think the big issue is that if Benin joins the fascists then we have one front in Europe that doesn't stop until you reach the Pacific and one front in Africa that doesn't stop until you reach the Cape of Good Hope and so either way we choose to focus we have to conquer an entire continent while also holding off our enemies on the other front.

Quite the opposite, we're actually doing better than any of us could hope for. In fact we're doing so well Hashim finds himself unable to actually spin it into a probable and likely narrative, in particular one the Goonmind would like. Yet no matter how many times he tries to replay the scenario we still end up winning, it's like the opposite of Dr. Strange's futures.

Naw, if there's anything I know about Al-Andalus it's that it always goes full circle. 50/50 we'll either get the snot beaten out of us by Frankia or we'll get the snot beaten out of us by opportunistic rebels. Things can never go well for Al-Andalus, it's like a universal constant or something.
