lot of people are up in arms over LIJ's treatment on NYD. I'm usually the first on the push Naito bandwagon but really don't see an issue. Naito was pinned by Elgin only after interference by Dragon Lee while Hiromu still has never been pinned. I don't personally understand the trios title decision from today either but those titles really don't mean much anyway and BUSHI doesn't really need protected. The only person they've really ever helped is David Finlay.

I'm on board with the big Suzuki-gun return for now as well. MiSu vs. Okada for the title hasn't been done since I think Dontaku 2013 and KES is probably the best tag team the company has. Yes, Iizuka and Taichi are trash but hopefully they're not really focused on much in a company with more depth. Kanemaru is often uninspired but he has talent and hopefully he shows a bit of a spark now that he's out of a company he never really wanted to go back to.

Are you sure I'm winning the Rumble? That does'nt seem right.....
So I haven't really watched since last year's Wrestle Kingdom. Allegedly the can't miss matches are Okada vs Ishii, Omega vs Naito, one of the Okada vs Marafuji matches (which one).

Anything else from the last year to really go out of my way to see?

Having only ever watched one NJPW match (I know it was had Nakamura with Jim Ross doing commentary) this was my first NJPW event I watched. I have heard of some of the wrestlers on the card just from being a wrestling fan.

And holy poo poo did it deliver. That was pretty drat awesome of a card.
Thought the different type of tag matches were all pretty cool.
Main event blown my mind so many times. That was just amazing.
The spots and just the way they run a match is so different to me since all I've watched is WWE that they felt so fresh and new. They just flow and are so smooth. It's beautiful.

One thing that got me confused is are hitting the officials not illegal? They seem to grab and and shoved them around without any repercussion in the match.

I'll be sticking around to keep watching more.

the angles were billy gunn squaring off with katsuya kitamura and the latter refusing to back down, dragon lee interfering in the elgin/kushi/LIJ tag to take out hiromu, and suzuki-gun killing everyone. assuming kanemaru has appeared in new japan previously then no debuts technically

yeah the proper word would be re-debut, but it's Dave, y'know? The return of a 7 person stable that includes a guy main eventing your next big show plus an incredibly talented guest star set to resume one of the best rivalries of recent years qualifies as big

I'm skeptical that this is happening myself, but LIGERFEVER's afraid that NJPW totally screwed over CMLL and is sending them Yoshitatsu in exchange for DL and that he's gonna stay for a fairly lengthy term like Dorada did.

Just catching up with WK11, what an awesome show. Sad for my boy Omega, but he'll have his day I'm sure. Probably the right call to keep the belt on Okada, since it really helps push him further as the Ace and also leads us to the very-cool upcoming Suzuki feud. Suzuki loving rules.

I imagine they'll separate them briefly (Okada vs Suzuki seems to be the current direction) and then Omega will win the title either from Okada around mid-year or whoever has beaten Okada in the meantime.

Edit: New Japan wants to expand internationally and their gigantic G1 Climax tournament kicks off around July including a couple of exhibition shows in the US, so I imagine they'll want Omega to be Champion by that point.

The summer is the time they prefer to try out a new guy anyway, that stretch leading up to the start of the G-1 is when Okada had his first run, AJ had his and Naito had his. It always feels a bit of a lame duck season though.

After New Year's Dash, I have no clue where so many guys will fit in. Suzuki-Gun is obviously going to war with Chaos, so that leaves most of the BC guys like GoD out of title hunts. I wonder if they have Suzuki beat Okada, Kenny win the NJ Cup and take the belt from him, then we spend a good portion of the year building to Okada/Omega II at WK 12.

I hope LIJ gets the trios titles back in brutal fashion so they can reign over the rest of NJPW while Chaos is distracted.

But most of all, I hope that YOSHI-HASHI wins the ROH world title.
