It is really a great business-owner experience for someone who has very little other employment opportunities. High school kid the primo among these, but retired ill father or retired caretaker mother would also be on that list. You can ship USPS media mail for next to nothing. Easy way to make a few bucks at a time via Amazon or eBay or whatever.

I don't know how big your city is, but put them all in a truck and haul them to your local swap meet and have an "everything's $1" sale after you sell the valuable stuff.
