Take a look! It's in a book!
Can we all take a moment to applaud the people that worked on the sound direction in this anime?

Seriously, the timings and volumes are impeccable.

If you had to guess which anime this season was made by KyoAni, I'd say guessing this series wouldn't be a bad mistake.

I assume these bits alone are why "doesn't play the main character" Suwabe got the role.

Another week, another fun episode. Hikari was top tier again this week, but I can't help but think that people expecting an actual Kusakabe episode will be sorely disappointed.

I was, though only very mildly since this is the order they did things in the manga I believe, so I kinda expected it. Kusakabe's episode is coming next week.

This week, though, was still really good.

I LITERALLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO NOT BE A WEIRD SEXUAL CREEP ABOUT PREPUBESCENT ANIME GIRLS, READ ALL ABOUT IT HERE!!!
The episode was good story wise but man, the animation quality, especially at the beginning of the episode, was really bad. I hope they are able to put out more consistent quality over the rest of the series and that this is just a temporary problem.

Hikari standing up to those bullies and then the bullies apologizing to Kusakabe was insanely badass

Might come off wrong, but I love the way Satou in her excitedness accidentally lets the lewd out.

Suwabe could record an ASMR video and make bank.

I was having a laugh at the start with that super low quality hug in the hallway.

Good episode as always though. Satou really removed her first limiter pretty dang fast around Takanashi after apologizing. :mmmhmm:

If it makes you feel any better the only "brave" thing I did in school was take back a gift that belonged to a friend of mine from a bully/thief.

This show is AGGRESSIVELY heartful and I love it.

It's kind of nice to have a show where girls (let alone youkai/demi/"monster" ones) have problems to work through but also actually have a support structure in place to help them handle it. Normally that kind of stuff gets played for straight laughs or overblown drama but this show is quite good about showing how their unique natures actually affect them but also how they are able to get help from their teachers and each other and it's just such a heartwarming portrayal of it. :3:

I think the monster angle is just a lighthearted way of inserting surrogates for physical disabilities/mental illness into a show. You'd have a much, much harder time marketing that story in manga format.

The only other story that dealt with disability in a straight-on way was A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi). It was very good but also incredibly heartbeaking a lot of the time.

I read that straight through in two sittings because it was that good and because I didn't think my heart could take a longer pacing. That manga got so real and dark at times that it was hard to read through it. I highly recommend it.

I'm glad this show isn't as dark but still manages to address some issues through proxy.
