My favorite thing about the Warcry release is all the nerds on GW’s Facebook posts about it getting mad about having to buy all the war bands at once GOSH HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PAINT ALL THIS AT ONCE

Warcry’s combat mechanics are really simple. I enjoy the initiative/doubles for special moves mechanic as well, it’s an incredibly easy game to learn, and quick to play.

I'm trying to get a few friends together for a new Blood Bowl league, and haven't payed the game much attention since the re-release a few years ago. I bought the boxed set and Death Zone Season 1 at that time. It looks like all I need to get the rules with all teams included and whatnot is the Inaugural Almanac, right? Also I have the My Dugout app, but it doesn't look like it's up to date anymore, did they abandon that thing? AND WHERE ARE MY LIZARD MANS?!

Right on. I believe I posted some of my dudes years ago but I shelved BB in favor over churning through my 40k backlog quite some time ago, and now that I'm halfway through my last squad of Steel Legion (70+ guardsmen later) I'm ready for a break, and slapping together some football mans and tricking my filthy casual friends into playing this infuriating game sounds like a lot of fun. Behold, the 1983 Miami Dolphins:  I only actually painted like 3 dudes, and am maybe 30% done with the rest of the team, since I was doing the whole batch at the time.

So like, you have your Underworld warband, and your deck that came with, but you had to buy a core set and two other warbands to get the cards you wanted to optimize your play style. That kind of thing? Then the new season (do they release new stuff in waves like that every year or so?) comes out and you need to buy "Greg's Face Rippers" to get the next new hotness for your deck?

A friend has bought into BB recently, and with other players threatening to join and form a league I preorderd the Lizardmen bundle and some extra dice. Gonna be running two simultaneous games soon, feels good to finally get a for reals Blood Bowl group up and running.

Welp, I noticed my preorder for the big $120 Lizardmen BB team bundle hadn’t shipped, so I shot GW an email asking what’s up. Turns out the pitch was sold out and they offered to ship the rest of my order, sans the bundle. So like, the magazine and the red extra dice, and some glue. No lizard anything. No offer to alter the order and ship everything but the pitch. I placed my preorder over a week in advance, and was immediately charged for it. Now the dice, the pitch, and the cards are sold out, and I’m basically told to go gently caress myself by a custom service rep I had to contact when my poo poo never got sent out. I’m sure they’ll take their sweet rear end time getting me my refund. My enthusiasm for this game is waning. I don’t think I’m gonna bother ordering direct from GW anymore, at the very least. Very disappointing.

I game exclusively at home with friends and beer. I do go to game stores in the area from time to time in order to buy small things, but in general they’re poorly ran and I’m not a big fan of a large part of the tabletop gaming community anyhow.

I checked eBay for the extras, and other than the standard sub $30 team, everything else lizards is above MSRP, with dice being over double. But then I saw the generic red dice for $15 shipped and the Nurgle pitch for $33 shipped and said gently caress it, Nurgle it is. I really just needed extra dice and another pitch for my game night (running two games at once, and I’d prefer a pitch from a team I own), and I figured a new team release was the time to grab them. I was wrong. I’m sure I’ll get around to the lizards eventually, but it’s gonna be the rotters accompanying my base game for now.
