I make a lot of money and don't work very hard. I can be fired at any moment but I don't care because I can get another job easily and am financially secure. my ability to switch jobs gives me leverage in negotiating and employers seem to want to keep me happy. why would I want to join a union?

yeah that does not sound at all normal, my union fees are £30/month or something and they scale by how much you get paid so a min wage worker pays basically nothing what you're describing sounds like a scam by a dodgy employer tbh
