I've not observed the review in question, so take this with a grain of salt, but given that the show is very much part of the horror genre, unequal power dynamics go with the territory. It just so happens that the show's biggest monster is also the show's lead.

The show's lead is western anglo society?

Episode 6 was possibly my favourite so far! Pretty pumped to see where all-out war leads.

the show started interesting, I thought it would get deeper over time into the horror stuff, but then it got less interesting over time. I figured the paranormal/mystical stuff would keep going but they seem to be dropping it over time.

I'm still fully into this show and keep recommending it left and right. Between setting, tone, and themes they've got my number so hopefully they don't blow it.

Wasn't it said that this show was supposed to pick up towards the end? I'm just not feeling it after episode 6. Everything is just happening way too easily and predictably (except the duel scene).

I do quite like how all the "nah man this show is really smart and so much happens in each episode!!!!!" people have gradually died down (both on here and in AV Club comments) the longer this show goes on.

It's not that I like the show any less, it's just that I don't want to post with people who get their favorite scenes made into meme avatars that they can pay 10 dollars to put beneath their name on an Internet forum. You know - idiots.

I think the show is good, but I guess I'm super disappointed in what happened with the Silva plot and the Chichester plot is just barreling ahead. The mysteries have all been solved and nothing bad has happened to anyone we liked (Wynter sucks and I hated her character) so I'm going into the last episode just kinda shrugging like "whats even could happen?"

There was a short interview with Hardy in a newspaper today or yesterday, where he said that it's possible to create several seasons (he mentioned seven) because there's so many small things to explore, but that it was originally written as a one-off show. I didn't know that it had been renewed already.

Anyway, only a little more than ten minutes until the finale is up on HBO Nordic :v:

I expect it to be revealed that there is no more to the paranormal in this series than the real world. The theme is madness not magic.

His sister creamed her gown every night since his return regardless of what he did in front of the fireplace.

Also this show owns because Hardy owns and the setting is very good.

WE MUST RETURN TO THE DANCE! THE NIGHT IS OURS!

Loved the series as a whole, for the acting, dialogue, setting, but that ending felt just way too rushed to me.

Also Surely if you're the King of England, in control of the most powerful army/ navy, why wouldn't you either blockade the Thames or just send a single ship with guns to stop Delany's vessel?
