Presidential pardons as far as I know can't be undone by the next standing president. In case you weren't aware, solitary confinement is staying in a room with no contact to the outside world for 23 hours. That will mess with your mind, and considering Chelsea Manning was suffering from several mental health issues (likely stemming from the lack of treatment for her gender dysphoria), I can't imagine it went well for her. Manning still spent 7 years, and for leaking information, I feel that's pretty justified for a 1st time offender. She also expressed guilt for her actions, things neither Snowden or Assange have shown.

Considering her mental state, it's probably going to take a lot of time and treatment before she's willing to be out in the public eye. I'm sure she could easily be a writer if she chose to do so, but that'll be her choice.
