We are still alive. How is it that 100x 15 kT weapons would cause so much destruction? This study takes into account the effect of actually using those weapons on cities and such. The vast majority of the effect would be from the cities themselves burning. But even with that it seems a bit overblown given we burnt Japan to the ground and didn't end the world.
