Interestingly enough, guild wars 2 being an example of a game the devs severely hosed up with the last xpac, but seemingly learned what not to do and started making the more recent content much better.

Game is kind of dead, but it's still a decent f2p arpg. This thread is haunted by the ghosts of people who have 1000-6000 hours played, suffering from lower back and carpal tunnel injuries, and are bitter that the development team fell to trash after certain clutch devs left and ran out of content. GW2 has a linear leveling curve, no grind*, and some of the best pretty princessing in an MMO. It also has no elves or dwarves, giant hulking feral cat people (vs sexy elf cattes in ff14). Also, the magnificent armor dye system. And you can gift stuff to people and whale to your heart's content. FF14 is probably more traditional in terms of mmo content, ie the better version of WoW. As someone who appreciates art direction in video games, core gw2 is just mind blowing. *excluding stupid xpac 1 content all new players should ignore. If you want to play d2 necro then you should try starcraft. I heard the latter's micro is comparable to the former. If you like easy, open world games with bright colors and pretty princessing, I will plug guild wars 2 here.
