There were a bunch of anecdotes about the cannibalism going on in those camps and I'll probably never forget the one about this Italian soldier with this chaplain who ends up protecting his brother's corpse from hungry Germans for a full night before collapsing (and then the Germans had two good meals).

When your audience is pathetic, disillusioned nerd losers, turns out anime message boards are a good recruiting ground.

We took him out to a Chinese buffet once and were breaking through to him at least a little bit and then someone had him eat one of those red peppers in Kung Pao Chicken and he started crying and refused to ever go out with us again.

I remember when Lowtax realized there were anime child porn threads in ADTRW and he went through and banned like a dozen or two posters and those guys got together with Moot to start 4chan. Then apparently those people eventually became so terrible they all got kicked off and started some other competing -chan boards.

The forums I was on previously died when an admin stole all the money and I stumbled onto SA because of his quake 3 map reviews and just kind of found myself reading current events. Also the Deus.se.cx article was the first time I saw the goat man. At some point they posted they'd be making the forums have a $10 registration fee so that's when I registered an account and I pretty much just lurked until SAS was created.
