From what I've seen so far the game expects you to lose more than a few planets and still win, does that mean there are fodder planets that don't give you any resources?

Also the best thing against the Tau. if you can ram them, you win. Dunno if they still have the thing where Tau ships would catch on other vessels so you'd get multiple ramming attacks off on a single pass. To devestating effect.

Well that's the Tau for you, once you get into their face they really don't do anything

There are no resource-less planets in this game, although some are more useful than others.

Interesting choice on the Dictator. It's a pretty rare pick since the other choices are a bit flashier (and later it's overshadowed by the Mars), so it's nice to see one in action for a change. The long range and versatility is definitely a help for Imps.

Given that SP gets easy after certain point (except one really dumb kind of mission we will see later on), I am looking forward if you have some interesting tricks up your sleeve.

I stopped reading Eisenhorn after the prostitute who is physically repulsive due to her mental powers (and yet earns a living as a prostitute) develops a taste for poetry and tries to protect a member of the team from a huge monster five minutes after being recruited. She also manages to con Eisenhorn's nemesis into revealing his plans, which is a tall order considering he's supposed to be a master manipulator and cult leader himself.

And maybe she is supposed to be painful to be around if you're a psychic, which the bad guy is? I'm not sure.

Imperials are supposed to be solid at ramming, though maybe not better than Orks, considering the other disadvantages Orks have. (Slow, inaccurate, random, no high speed manuevers, insurbordinate, can't tactically accelerate - the big red button uses the full tank)

Also, the Imperial Navy, Orks, and Tyranids (which I don't know if are in this game or not) are the only races in the tabletop that make a habit of ramming. Eldar and Dark Eldar ships are made of tissue paper, Tau never want to be that close to an enemy, and Necrons are certainly tough enough to do it but encourage a more conservative playstyle. Chaos and Space Marines can do it when the situation demands but don't make it standard practice.

I know everyone gets all :syoon: over the Dominator's Nova Cannon, but honestly, while its got the gold star in burst damage, I prefer the Dictator's versatility and constant, reliable damage, especially since you can autocast your fighters. The RPG books call it 'a fleet in a single vessel', and I'm definitely in agreement.

EDIT: Forgot to add, I actually prioritize the Micro-Warp Jump for pretty much the same reason I prefer the Dictator- it gives me a lot more tactical options than the other abilities.

Go for it, criticism helps improvement though I recommend holding it for a few episodes as I get comfortable with the fleet. It's been a while for me with a low-tier fleet and I'd gotten too used to mass Nova Cannon fleets.

Dictator is so much better than the Dominator early because I only feel the Dominator gets good when you have a pair of them at least, as they pack so little power outside the Nova Cannon. We won't be getting a Mars for a while either, since the fleet needs more brawlers than long range craft.

\/ I get complacent with that since Imperial ships don't need to intercept, whereas my old Ork fleet definitely needed aiming.

A simple tip I can give ya is instead of burning directly for an enemy, do an intercept course, pretty much aim for where the enemy ship is probably gonna be when you get there. You can always make small corrections when you get closer.
Also helps to get more speed for ramming :getin:

Putin apologist- assume all uncited claims are from Russia Today or directly from FSB.

key phrases: Poor plucky little Russia, Spheres of influence, The West is Worse, they was asking for it.
Eh, I ram plenty as Tau, especially vs Eldar and Orks.

And Orks, after they miss their ram, I turn on a dime and ram them.

You see, Tau can shoot most of their guns at whatever they are ramming, which Imperials actually dont.
This is especially hilarious with the Demirug vessels which can ram the enemy while also eviscerating it with a big gently caress off mining laser.

The Taus most infuriating gimmick is to go with an all stealth fleet (invisible on radar) that summons more Nicassar Dhows (a pretty beefy escort) who may or may not also be stealthy.
While your enemy tries to figure out where you are (and that is not easy because you are moving), you slowly amass overwhelming force while sending cheeky messages to him via chat.
Frequently, the enemy will just warp out. Sending back many frustrated messages in the process.

I've not played multiplayer since the Tau were added, so my efforts are going to be focused on the Imperials and Orks, I've got some ideas for Chaos shenanigans but am not anywhere near good enough at Eldar to do them justice. Not physically repulsive. She's a blank psychically speaking, and most every human in the galaxy has some form of psychic resonance. Basically she was that person who was good for about a day, then everything about them started to rub you EXACTLY the wrong way causing you to hate them more and more. So spending one night with her as a hooker would be fine, but any amount longer than that and she'd start to rankle. Blanks are terrifyingly powerful and valued by the inquisition because they can undo everything chaos throws at them magically.

Like "Hey, getting attacked by psychic lightning? Let the blank handle it!" Jurgen from Caiaphas Cain is probably the quintessential example of the type... being able to make Greater Daemons evaporate.
