24 gonna be so good.

the protos only got really small tweaks after the Roar, so will be interesting to see if the Orecas stay dominant.

the RV spots for the 24 are stupid expensive for some reason, if that's what you're thinkin of doing. Sebring is cheaper and a better party

That's a very strange choice, although their straight line speeds weren't bad even without the hybrid I guess.

If nothing else, it's nice to have confirmation the comedy car will be back to somehow lose LMP1-L in a field of one.
They will probably write the purchase off as a eleventy billion dollar expense to launder more money or whatever they are doing.

Another Caddy 1,2,3 in Practice 2, but it doesn't look like anyone is really running in anger yet. The Mazda and ORECAs were in the 1:38's in the Roar, like the Caddy's are now, but haven't come close to that speed in practice yet.

The Nissan DPi is a bigger departure than I thought it was: http://www.racer.com/imsa/item/137909-imsa-2017-prototype-tech-profile-nissan-onroak-dpi

The turning vains are pure sex.

So DragonSpeed's Oreca tub was damaged so badly that they had to buy a new 07 tub from the Oreca trailer and build a whole new car up over night:
http://www.racer.com/imsa/item/137944-rolex-24-all-nighter-pays-off-dragonspeed-oreca-to-race

Reliability is going to be the determining factor it seems. Mazda has all old/known electronics, but their gearboxes overheat. VFR has the buggy electronics AND their gearboxes overheat. The Nissan is struggling to keep its intercoolers from getting blocked and killing their top end power (and they have the buggy electronics). Caddy has steering wheels that don't work. Gonna be a fun race!

Pretty impressive that the lexus could get that tore up and not have more problems, honestly. Did a good job keeping that area around the tire clear of anything important.

After squabbling for multiple years, awarding a deal and then pulling it back, openly badmouthing everyone, and multiple lawsuits from local rich people... Laguna Seca just reupped for 3 years with SCRAMP. Well that sure was a lot of effort for the status quo.

Speaking of LeMans, entry list is out:

http://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/24h-le-mans-entry-list-revealed/

P1 is sad, and P2 is Oreca vs the world. 15 Oreca, 6 Ligier, 3 Dallara, 1 Riley.

The WEC P2 grid is all ORECA. Not a single entry from another brand. And there is already talk that Riley may pull the plug. The FIA/ACO are bad.
