i'm sure the devs are reeling that you're not using ff. you're really teaching them a lesson by using what is basically spyware with a url bar

im thinking about going back to firefox. chome has gotten really bad with forced googley bullshit and i think i have like 3 extensions just to correct annoying behaviors that they removed the options for over the years. otoh firefox is finally getting proper multiprocess support, the new version has some wasm support, and they're working to kill off NPAPI and make a safer extension system. killing the old extension system sounds like an annoying transition but i havent used destop ff for a couple years so i don't even remember what extensions i used to use on it

i use lastpass, ublock origin, and streamkeys so if those (or equivalents) are available on firefox i could give it a shot

i believe i made some posts about this when i noticed it now that i have a mouse with no back button

the extension doesn't stop chrome from condescendingly telling you to use alt + left arrow to go back when you use backspace to go back

yeah

on the other hand, it was two years ago when i explained to a family member of mine why Microsoft word sometimes does that thing where you go to type but it writes over the stuff that you already typed, and how to fix it when it happens. this person was delighted to learn about the Insert key, because they had spent the past two decades of their life dealing with this problem by rebooting the machine :allears:
