30 million people voted in the dem primary and over twice that many voted for Hillary in the general

turns out trying to restrict primary voting to party sycophants means you end up with weak general candidates. go figure

Also did much better in states which had open dem primary.

Surprise, the failed Hillary Clinton did really well with rich voters and loyalist bad Dems, but lost many working class voters.

Rural counties that Obama won by large margins in both elections switched over to Trump, which led to losing "safe" blue states.

Let's make sure the guy the resonates with both rural and urban voters doesn't win the primary!

Much like the Berenstein/Berenstain universe split, there is a universe out there where Bernie won. In fact, we are probably living in the only one where he didn't.

But would have.

In the parallel universe Bernie is feeding Wall Street bankers into a brazen bull.

Bernie would have campaigned in the rust belt probably got a narrow EC over Trump by winning west coast, Midwest and also NE.

Also many working class and union voters talked about how they believed in bernie but weren't excited about Hillary. Trump's anti-establishment measure and focus on things like bad trade deals appeal to them.
