I think the porn is the only thing that gets excluded with the highest filter thing though, so I think the only thing you'd be missing out on by having it turned off is all of the porn. I can't think of any non-pornographic games that would have been hit by that filter.

My brain fatigue sets in so quickly when I try to learn how to code, so quickly I end up just passing out as my brain shuts down, and she's over there just making vids about her game dev process to act as tutorials and guides for other people. Good on her.

In the wake of what happened elsewhere in the forums, I think it would be a good idea to reconsider sharing things on the basis of being not work safe. I know this thread was founded on sharing and mocking awful poo poo that gets put up for sale and that said awful poo poo often included very obvious fetish games with bad art and terrible everything. It was like doing second life safari or weekend web stuff but with steam. I myself have posted many things in this thread to mock, including pointing and laughing at the various censored porn titles that would crop up before steam gave up and just let them on. I understand that there's something comical about seeing more low hanging fruit in the steam queue, upcoming releases, or top recent release list, but there are so many porn games getting dumped onto steam and you're only able to see them if you specifically tell steam "please show me the porn games" so if someone shows up complaining about having to see all this porn, it's something they opted into seeing, going out of their way to do so. I don't think there's anything really funny inherent in sharing yet more random porn/fetish games. Admittedly, I could be wrong, but I don't want to see this thread for posting bad games end up going the way of the deviantart thread that had been festering on this site as a place for people to share fetish art under the guise of mocking them. Palpek's OP says that this thread would cover for nws titles as well but I think it would be a good idea to move on from that. I don't want to see this thread get anywhere near the depths the deviantart thread was apparently at and I think it'd be worth have a threadban on posting porn games. I don't think we can trust people to not eventually make it weird. Like I said before, I know my post history in this thread includes a lot of posts mocking sex games on steam. I just think it's a good idea to move away from posting sex games on the basis of them being sex games. There are near infinite ways for a game to be bad and 1000s of more interestingly bad titles out there. Anyone else agree?

I'd rather the thread overcorrect than become anything like the DA thread I know I can trust myself but it has been shown on the forums time and again that without stringent moderation, there are plenty of other users who can't be trusted to not make it weird. A lot were perma'd from the DA thread but some of those perma'd were posters in here too so this thread was already attracting those types. As nice as it'd be for this thread to get by on self-policing, I just don't have any faith in that happening. It's easier to cut a cancerous tumor out before it metastasizes. Plus VG has already made it clear that this is now a porn-game-free thread. I think the past couple of pages have shown that it is still entirely possible to have a thread dedicated to dredging the depths of the steam catalogue without risking it turning into a place for posting hardcore porn games.
