even if you isolated everything about this game down to this image and cropped it to only show that guy on the right you could tell this game was made by a very boring straight guy

They kinda are actual tanks.
except they're not, because they're all anime girls

if they were actually tanks it would be good but instead it's bad

Ghost Leviathan posted:

And the thing is that people don't actually want that level of reactivity in a game, they want the appearance of it.
Easiest example of that sort of thing(though not about language, specifically) would be the AI in FEAR (and to an extent half life) which is highly praised for its realism and responsiveness, but it's like 95% smoke and mirrors where enemies loudly telegraph the stuff they do, making players notice their "tactical" actions more, and when an enemy soldier gives others orders he's not actually telling them what to do-instead, they'd already decided to do X thing and making the leader bark an order about it gives the appearance of actual AI teamwork.

I saw a Deadly Company clip where a mimic uses the "spinning around" signal players use to request a teleport to base. Did they programme that is or did the game AI actual make the enemies learn player and copy behaviour?
It's just part of normal mimic behavior.
