Everyone is welcome in the progressive left, and most of the fight over the next 4 years will probably be 1) opposing trump and 2) pushing the general dialogue left (both national discussion and individual congress people).

Attended my first Seattle DSA meeting last night. The attendance was huge; they had just moved to a new location to fit all the new people, and now they're going to have to move again because they ran out of space and people had to crowd outside the room. They mostly talked about last week's protests and preparing for internal elections and drafting the chapter's main principles.

If I was a garbage piss idiot Clinton supporter, am I still "allowed" to get involved in this stuff or will I get berated if I don't pretend I was a diehard Sanders supporter I'm being half ironic here but I guess I'm curious about other peoples' experiences and what the general vibe is like. The DSA seems the best I can do right now because it sounds like they're getting good turnout and are actually organized.

One of the sections of that talk was "Intersectionality -- Cornel West's version, not Hillary's". If the implication that Hillary's version of things is bad offends you, or if you're a fan of class-exclusionary intersectionality as a concept, this is probably not the right fit for you. But if you don't instantly explode when people shoot zingers at that wing of the Democrats, then you'll be fine!

no more books posted:definitely a long shot but if anyone is in the I.E. even tho there isn't a local chapter on the site map (http://www.dsausa.org/chapters) there is a Facebook group with 220+ members (?!). Since there's no official chapter I'm assuming no one goes to meetings, but the leader of the Facebook page seems pretty active so I'll be going to the next one. I have the form to create a chapter from the national office, so it should be happening soon. Please show up!  Out in the IE here too. Dipping my toe into the DSA waters but thanks for the FB link and I'll be putting up some cash soon.
