Since everyone couldn't get the license to make Gundam stuff, you had things like Virtual On which came out. I remember seeing this game on occasion at some arcades as a kid, and they even ported it to the Sega Dreamcast. I don't really know why they ported it, since the Dreamcast didn't have two joysticks, so it was stupid as poo poo to play. Anyhow, check it out.

Apparently, we learned that these are part of the "Fighter Instinct" series of games, which includes the "Groove on Fight" game that we played on the show before. Usually we all go in blind, so our reactions can be raw and authentic, but this leaves us unaware of key features of the game. Oh well, we've admitted to being bad at our jobs in the past.
