 Decided to pull up the Japanese arcade brochure up for reference here. There was indeed a strange resurgence for light gun rail shooter games in the late 00s after the highs with Time Crisis, Silent Scope, and House of the Dead. Would be fun to find more games like this in this genre, but it's pretty difficult to emulate those games. Well, there IS Beast Busters...which is 3 player. And Revolution X. Hint hint.
