Still the best opening credits sequence in TV today. Always watch it start to finish and that loving HURDY GURDY just gets me pumped for some sweet pirate drama. Also those underwater shots were spectacular. HUGE SPACEKABLOOIE posted:OP is also missing TheCoat.gif what the hell yo RIP The Coat.

It's funny that the fictional Treasure Island characters have plot armor since they supposedly want to come back for a Treasure Island movie, while the historical characters aren't tied to their actual historical roots.

That was a very unsatisfying death for Elanor, and Madi for that matter, but in Elanor's case we wanted to see her get some justice for Vane. Also the show once again writes Max as being far too important. Her plan is dumb because they already explained that Elanor was on the outs with her family and only was going to request their help because her marriage to Rogers would have given them social status.

I was fine with that aspect. I mean she literally could have suffered more before dying. The way it was filmed was her "heroically" struggling against her oppressor and finally succeeding in defeating him before dying of her wounds, instead of being brutally, slowly, murdered in a way that imparted some schadenfreude for the audience. Just deserts -> Justice hurts, as it were. I'm not into torture porn, it's more the general direction of the scene. Even if her and Madi had switched places it would have been a million times better because as a viewer I want Madi to live and don't want Elanor to, so I'm more into seeing Madi fight for her life and succeed but succumb to her injuries than I was Elanor. Edit: I was trying to avoid using prowrestling lingo, but gently caress it: they booked heel as a face and as Jim Cornette would say, it went over like a fart in church(to me).

Spanish governor should have totally killed Rogers and then gotten a promotion for not only having taken out an enemy of the crown but also for having captured and destroyed an English settlement. The Spanish up and loving off makes no sense and it seemed obvious that the now larger pirate army was going to face off with them and get broken. I really have no idea how they're going to be at Treasure Island in three episodes with all the outstanding plot points.

Great finale. As noted everything was super satisfying. Seeing Rogers get publically humiliated was a very fitting end to his arc and much better than if he was just killed off during the fight. Flint's end was good, and I liked that they threw in a little drama with Silver and Madi to keep you guessing if they'd have a happy ending until the last scenes. Ending with Rackham was excellent him continuing his adventures with Anne and Mark Read was fantastic.

It really is amazing how Silver turned the corner. Everyone hated him in the first season and he was dismissed as a babyface hero that was being thrust into the spotlight by the producers. However he was so well written and the actor did such a great job that he won the crew over as he won the fans over. I wonder if that was part of his long term scripting that he shows up and is a little overexposed in the beginning so as his role diminished, we'd forget a little about him so by the time he started his ascent to power our initial hatred for him would have tempered.
