also the guy is the chief editor of the internet's largest tech blog, who you would expect to not be a total idiot when buying tvs

and laments not buying a different tv made by vizio, who i have never heard of but am assuming are equally bad

ars seems to be slightly confused while trying pretty hard to mold some sort of uncomfortable hip nerd aesthetic that combines science with fast cars with fast money along with boardgames that clicks with nothing n' nobody

can't really blame ars for that. people have been getting it wrong forever. in the early 2000s everyone was trying to portray nerds as flame shirt wearing limp bizkit fans playing crazy taxi and watching tony hawk do a 900

i have the top tv on that chart (not bragging or anything heh 😏) and the ad is easy to ignore and kinda relevant. its about movies that you can watch on one of the apps bundled in with the tv. its on the left of the main menu takes like 5-10% of the width

maybe 3 years from now theyll start putting viagra ads in there but for now its not bad

there is no such thing as "relevant ads". stop making excuses for the people whose only job is to make the world uglier

i kinda like my kindle ads. they're usually relevant books and they only show up on my lock screen and don't get in the way of anything.

luke was supposed to be the most powerful jedi for generations and all he can do is sense when daddy in nearby and maybe make his lightsaber fly into his hand if he really concentrates. so why in the books can every ordinary jedi blow up planets and make huge spaceships crash like its no thing?
