How? Stop being so anti-Trump all the time and start being more pro-Mike Pence. It's my turn to shed sweet liberal tears, hear me out. First, allow me to start with a heartfelt gently caress Mike Pence. Of course I don't loving like Mike Pence. I'll leave it to others to post all the reasons why he's a regressive, deplorable piece of poo poo, but at this point I see the Trump administration moving us closer and closer to literal instability and I feel like anything would be better than this. I think that anti-Trump people of all political stripes need to adopt a strategy of building towards an eventual impeachment, not by bashing Trump or using the word "impeachment", but by pretending to look forward with hope and optimism to a future Pence administration that will return our country to sane and stable governance. So on the internet, as much as would seem credible under your real name, and as much as you can anonymously: Don't do this: "The Trump administration moving us closer and closer to literal instability." "Trump is a dangerous demagogue swiftly moving this country towards fascism!" "Trump is trampling on American Values! When will this madness end?!" Instead do this: "What a fiasco. We'd be doing better taking back control of our borders with an experienced conservative like Mike Pence." "I never remember seeing our closest allies out publicly rebuking Ronald Reagan like this, maybe it's time to give Pence a chance." "I support Trump and what he stands for but there has to be order. I doubt Pence would be running the show like this if he was in charge." Don't do this: #TrumpDiscrimination #ImpeachTrump #BridgesNotWalls Instead do this: #GiveMikeAChance #TimeForPresidentPence #PenceForAmericaNow Why? The US Constitution, the only reason that matters. If we're able to get Trump out before 2020 Pence is who we're gonna get. No they won't kick him out and give it to Bernie or Warren or Abuela, so get the gently caress over that now. Actually "supporting" Pence doesn't really matter. Also, I see this as first and best chance for a true bipartisan movement since 9/11. Not talking about the pols just yet, but the people and the pundits. Imagine having Erick Erickson, Bill Kristol and all those regretful Trump voters on the same side of an issue as John Oliver, Chris Matthews and Woke Twitter. All of these people will agree that Pence is, at a minimum, less reckless and insane than Trump, who most will agree is proving himself to be truly dangerous. It will be much harder for Spicer to scream "Lying liberal media!" when it's coming from both sides. This has been the worst start to a presidency since back before TV was invented. I feel there very well may be a slight majority of people in this country (lol Hillary) who are already thinking but not talking about this right now, and there will be even more as this poo poo show continues. We should do this anywhere and everywhere it might catch on, with the goal of targeting these groups: 1. Remorseful Trump voters – This is the most important group and the main target of the strategy. If you go at them bashing Trump with hysterical hyperbole, they will immediately shut you off. If you instead appeal to their unreliable but still persistent reverence for True Conservatism, you may be able to get them thinking and talking about this. 2. #NeverTrump – Yes they mostly all bent the knee, but if they thought there was a real chance for vindication, they would turn on this motherfucker in one second. Lindsey Graham is just waiting for this to become a thing. You can see it in his face when he responds to Trump questions. People like Evan McMullin would be salivating for this to become a thing if they belived it could. 3. Democratic POLITICIANS, not voters - We’ve already got the voters and the protesters, but sitting politicians are going to be extremely careful of using or even implying the I-word. If instead they could feign respect 4. The Rich – Hate them all you want but uncertainty is like kryptonite for them, and I’m sure they don’t like this Executive Order situation one bit. Silicon Valley has already started openly bitching, and many others are probably waiting for a sign that it’s safe to do so. 5. Republican Politicians – The last and most difficult group to turn. They won’t move until they are certain they will win, but at least getting them to agree with something like “The President would do well to seek the advice of VP Mike Pence on matters of governance and procedure that Donald Trump the businessman may not be so familiar with.” will at least get them on the right track. If this thing really started trending they would have to address it. If 4chan can do this this type of poo poo then so can we. All we really have to do is plant the seed, Trump and Bannon will make sure that it grows sky high. I'm looking for feedback on the above and ideas for better hashtags.

I agree with OP just because WWIII ain't cool with me, yo I don't agree with OP because Trump will be a martyr for fascism and people will claim that if only he had a chance to govern he would've been great, and a much more competent fascist will seize power in the near future as a result This calvinball poo poo storm might yield dividends for us if we actually get through this poo poo intact

Have to say that I'm surprised that there is way less criticism of the stupid idea itself than there is people making GBS threads on Mike Pence. I mean, I know folks are pretty partisan around these parts but , what the gently caress, wouldn't Pence or any Republican be better than the Actual Worst President Ever at this point? gently caress the policies, we have a man in the White House with clearly visible mental stability issues. Literally claiming his paranoid delusions as justification for an official government investigation spanning all 50 states. What the hell could be worse than that? The only thing would be more severe mental issues. Pence may be a dick but as long he doesn't have multiple personality disorder or some poo poo, impeachment is going to give a very significant, yuuuuge upgrade.

That's a commendable goal jarofpisss, I hope you achieve it. I still struggle to see how even the most liberal, Republican-hating, commie pinko gay Kenyan socialist in the world could look at President Trump and see "a Republican".

I started this last night. I started with my state, now I've messaged Alabama -> New Hampshire's senators. I'm demanding Trump's impeachment for violating the emoluments clause by taking money from foreign governments through his chain of businesses, and for crimes against humanity by splitting up families with his bullshit ban order. Pence is a fuckbag, and if he turns out to be another bad apple? Impeach him too. I'm not sitting by while religious minorities get crapped on.
