So stoked for this. Missus hates scifi, so gotta watch this alone. Tempted to rewatch season 1, but no time if this kicks off tonight

Eiba posted:I feel like I'm missing something. Why wouldn't the star field be moving in that direction? They must be at the flat end of the rotational cylinder, like looking out the side of a wheel. Wouldn't it look like that? A soft e;fb

ToadStyle posted:If the med crew were Protogen, surely they would have had a stealth ship escort? Not necessarily. Lots of those ships have been blown up, and we get the feeling that they're a pretty limited resource. Like, they had one for Toth station. And it would have been a plan B sort of operation, were the risks would likely be higher on a shorter notice. I'm leaning Protogen. Maybe Mao mentions it offhandedly later? Mini spoiler: The ship is a show invention, so book readers are speculating as well

Going off the preview there will be a whole lot of Bobbie screen time in episode 6. People will make the correct decision and fall in love with her then.

I guess it would be easier to blow up more Mars ships with the Donnager intel. And that the Protogen guys had a weird relationship in regards to risk vs reward. Would have been a small case to blow them up at the wreck if they were afraid of survivors. That life boat was initially pretty hosed though.

Book reader human being here; On the Avasarala musings about the no vac suit: Did they hand over Bobbies armor, or just parade it? Ie still having the door open for definitive proof of a protomolecyle soldier

Oh Maslow chat The Errenwright confession; is it a fake out? Yeah, he handed over a lot of intel Adersevala (sp) didn't have, but I don't trust the bugger

Earth and MArs each had a platoon rolling around, not a half squad. And the Martians had a mech

Then why would it be shadowing every course correction the science ship made?

Zzulu posted:I liked the season and thought it was much better than S1, but the climax of the season for me was Miller/Julie. That was wonderfully weird and cool. Kinda feel it lost a bit of steam after that, no doubt because of no more Miller. Avasarala and Bobbi make up for it though but Bobbi only really had like one or two good scenes The show made up everything on Bobbie before the PM attack, and it shows (heh)

Toast Museum posted:In terms of conveying its power, I think the biggest disservice they did to the armor was to show Bobbie successfully beating it at arm wrestling. The book version of the armor could tear your arm right off. I know the point of the scene was to show that Bobbie is strong, but there had to be another way to do it. Could easily be hand waved away as the arm not operating at full juce
