You mean Reagan. None of those dudes would take a bullet for Obama, they'd let it ride to save the Republic.

To most of America, the most significant daily impact of 9/11 is that they have to take their shoes off at the airport, not that we've been at war for almost two decades.

That graph is also a really bad gauge. I'd be interested to see how it compares as a share of viewers rather than raw numbers. People aren't watching tv as much as they were in 1990, and the ones who are have their attention split by hundreds of options. Back then we had four networks and a handful of cable stations. I can pick up more Spanish language OTA stations than I had tv stations in total in 1990. Four million viewers looks atrocious compared to where they started, but it's actually about average for a network show. The only things that can hit 30+ nowadays are major sports events and poo poo like the Oscars. No doubt they're not drawing what they used to, as a share or in raw numbers, but they have gradually slid down into the middle of the pack...and it took three decades.

Hell, peak Simpsons was in that 15M viewer range, not peak viewership. So that chart really doesn't do much explaining at all.

Are there seriously libs saying that crushing poverty doesn’t contribute to conservative radicalization among rural whites? Like that’s been common knowledge for over a century that the capitalist class pushes racist hatred onto the poor whites to keep them more focused on pushing down their fellow poofs for being other ethnicities rather than uniting with their class against capital

Yes because "I grew up poor and I'm not a terrorist!"

45 for practice, 45 for the test. Good for the year.

It's for retiring generals, so probably thousands (all the unused ones you have leftover as you got promoted all the way up from squadron commander).

Edit: Chowdown was a staple of the wall ads for AAFES food courts through much of the 2000s. So he showed up on Army and AF bases, whichever one he was in. Those ads were up far longer than BDUs were still authorized, at least on the AF side. We were well into ABUs by the time he was gone.
