I watched the videos of the five goals against the Flyers last night, wondering if Ghost made some obvious mistakes or something. No, it was actually the rest of the team collapsing and ending up out of position and blowing coverage.

Ghost had a rough game last night but literally everyone had a bad game.

that quote at the end is great

quote:

Many former Flyers alumni are skipping the event, however.

"Oh, I think it had to do with politics," Watson said, according to the Courier-Post. "Some of our guys said, 'They've got bad gas in their planes and their engines go down.' I said, 'Well, I never thought of that before,' but we're flying Aeroflot directly from Kennedy to Moscow, so I think we'll be fine."

Ghost still out. Dave Isaac thinks sitting Ghost again is really starting to irritate the rest of the team.

Read's been really hit-and-miss going back to last year, so that's not the most shocking thing. I really don't get continuing to scratch Ghost though unless there's something going on behind the scenes nobody's aware of.

The one thing I'm latching on to to keep the hope alive is that I don't recall them keeping opponents from scoring so well last year. Seems like we've have a pretty ridiculous number of 4-0, 5-1, kind of games.

Yeah the caps have gotten a ton better defensively over the last couple years from what I've seen.

Full credit for this goes to Teemu Pokemon:

quote:

At least the Wings have Justin Abdelkader to skate 18 minutes a night
Thank God for that

How blessed are we to be among such a history making titan
A curly haired new god

Sweet Michigan Adonis
High lord and master of the offensive zone stick penalty
For then the clouds parted and god did spake
My children I send to you again my son in his one true form

The faithful did partake in the 20 goals
And the non-believers were cast unto grand rapids

The penalty minutes did amass but the son did remain undeterred
Truclulence be it not determined by transgressions but the honor of the man
For the Holland came down from the mountain top and spoke to the son
He said these millions I give to you
And at last the world was silent

In the big picture Hexy doesn't care much about making the playoffs at this point. It's one of those "nice if it happens, but..." things. They're still shedding bad contracts and bringing up more young guns.
