So apparently according to Friedman the pens may be in on duchene or landeskog and may send maatta back? I'm not sure how I feel about adding that kind of cap hit, but with how hurt our forwards are i can see why jr may be kicking tires. I also wonder about shattenkirk too, but I dunno if the pens would target him. To be honest I can see the pens having a slow deadline, they kept everyone from last year and don't really have cap space. E: and lol if you don't think that JR won't buy out MAF if it comes down to it

It's just so important to destigmatize it so people will be willing to get the care they need.

I still barely know who Gaunce is but Oleksy is a lovely punchman so all I can hope for is that if he has to get into a pointless fight he at least gets Dubinsky good. Is pouliot still a thing? I haven't heard about him (other than trade rumors) in a while.

Koopa Kid posted:Maybe for 10 games? Phil was mostly with Malkin under Sullivan when the whole team sucked, then the HBK line became a thing after the Pens acquired Bonino and was a big part of the Pens surge in the second half. I think we had Bonino from the start of that year too, we just never put Kessel with him until we traded for Hagelin mid season. Kessel has played with Malkin more than Crosby but primarily plays with Bonino actually. I mean in the playoffs last year Kessel was our leading scorer IIRC and he played exclusively with Bonino and Hagelin. Teemu Pokemon posted:Phil Kessel sucks he only has 8 hits It's almost hilarious how Kessel actively avoids throwing any kind of hits at all. It's like watching (most) beer leaguers where you apologize if you accidentally even touch someone.

Oh gently caress OFF. Like byflugen didn't board the poo poo out of Schultz and ACTUALLY hurt him or like another one of your players didn't elbow the gently caress out of one of our guys in the SAME loving GAME.

RC Cola posted:They can both be pieces of poo poo fyi Yes but the pens aren't out there crying about the other team getting away with poo poo. The Jets had two at least equivalent hits in the same game. I'm not saying that makes the Malkin hit less bad, but I am saying that they shouldn't be throwing stones in a glass house. Schultz is still out from that dumbass Byflugen board, that didn't even get 2 minutes. Pornographic Memory posted:Malkin got away with one with the Wheeler hit. Basically it comes down to the DoPS having no real fixed criteria or standards for what is or isn't suspendable or how long a suspension any infraction will get, so any given suspension is a crapshoot. It's pretty lucky that Wheeler wasn't hurt, at least. Chris Pronger probably saw Wheeler come back on the ice while Malkin was in the box and decided he put his head in the way of Malkin's elbow to draw a power play. Oh he totally did, but so did Byflugen and that Jets player that elbowed (I think) Rowney.

Reviews are dumb and bad and sometimes bad calls happen. I don't want the sport to turn into football where every play is reviewed down to the inch.

ThinkTank posted:Shea Weber turning back into a pumpkin after putting up 8g and 18pts in his first 22 games hasn't helped either. He hasn't been bad offensively since then, but 6 goals and 16pts in his last 38 games isn't the production they need from him. His PPG has fallen below Subban's at this point (.55 compared to Subban's .62). That doesn't strike me as a very surprising occurrence...

So you think Miller gets a call about this? Bonus points for the announcers defending the hit where the principle point of contact was very clearly the head. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw4Rgdoe-JI e: I guess you could make the argument that it's a clean hit because the principle point of contact was the shoulder and he rode up into the head, which is probably what'll be said and no discipline will follow.
