Look I have no compunction about bashing the fashing, but if people are doing six degrees of separation and conclude that the entire tree is made up of fash to be bashed we get real dicey

so far, every bashing that i've seen celebrated is people who are explicitly way into fash.

So this thing about the order the media is called on is pretty important to some people huh https://twitter.com/dorseyshaw/status/827211187746115584

Remember when Bush had Jeff Gannon, a gay escort with no journalism background, get daily press passes so Gannon could throw the press secretary softball questions? Planted reporters are gonna be back bigly!

like, the aclu has defended the kkk in court before so i'm not sure what sort of epic owning you think your hypothetical was going to make. their job is to defend civil liberties, like free speech. but i don't think anybody's free speech was infringed by the university shutting down an event that was a security risk. good luck with those law cases, though!

What are you talking about free speech for? It's a civil rights case because the top city official gave an order to stop police action that would have protected people in immediate danger of physical assault. This is like when cops in the South let the mobs bash the Freedom Riders in the 60's. They're going to get sued and lose millions if someone can find a way to prove this.

assault is handled by local police. civil rights cases are federal and are not specifically a matter of assault. maybe cervonovich needs to specify what civil rights were infringed that he wants to create a lawsuit over.

Man, a victory twenty years ago and now the woman is one of the wealthiest people in media. They've lost the culture war because there isn't any major company that is going to cater specifically to white evangelical tastes anymore. Demographics just don't make that profitable for global companies.

cabinet-level positions are usually people who have experience in the area or some broad government experience, not people who are super rich and give a lot of money to the candidate. hoping that this is helpful.

that flawless logic.

that last guy isn't completely wrong. large swaths of the country think that you're immediately shot and robbed if you walk ten feet in a major city because their knowledge of detroit is from robocop or taxi driver is their image of new york or whatever media it is. and then they vote for people who want to treat cities like they are the warzones that fiction depicts them as.

we all like to think we're smarter than the fiction we passively consume all day but we really aren't for the most part.
