poo poo racing because of the cars and NASCAR flipping the bird to its core demographics are why NASCAR lost its appeal.

Aside from attending races at Texas and Vegas killing Wheldon I can't tell you a single interesting thing that occurred any of them

Old Atlanta was amazing to watch but everything is poo poo with these cars. The other downside is that occasionally a team will 'get' the setup and suddenly you have drivers like Bobby Labonte and later Jimmie Johnson turning every 1.5m track into a curbstomping.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong I see nothing wrong with a guy putting most of a field a lap down before halfway. My interest in NASCAR rapidly dropped once they started dropping debris cautions when it seemed like someone might stink up the show.

VikingSkull posted:Indy was really the only race where tire problems were widespread. Pretty certain most tire failures among front runners are from them blatantly ignoring tire pressure guidelines and then screeching about how poo poo the tires are

i dont think its exactly controversial to say people whove been good at running stock cars on ovals all their life are going to be better than dudes whove never run stock cars on ovals ultimately the fact is there probably isnt ten loving drivers in the world that could go rather seemlessly between different styles and be out of the box competitive. thats why generational talents like Tony Stewart were fun to watch.
